Scabies is characterised by intense itching caused by a tiny insect (sarcoptes scabei) which burrows just below the surface of the skin and lays its eggs. It is common in sheep farming areas as the mite lives in the sheep's fleece and is easily transmitted to humans.

Combine 6-7 drops of essential oil into 20mls carrier oil. Ideally use at least three of the recommended essential oils below. Apply this blend to the itching areas at least 3 times a day. Also use this blend in the bath.  Hygiene is very important during treatment - the mites live in clothes, bedding, etc.  Use these oils in a hot wash with clothes and/or in a spray bottle around the home.
