Scabies is characterised by intense itching caused by a tiny insect (Sarcoptes scabei) which burrows just below the surface of the skin and lays its eggs. It is common in sheep farming areas as the mite lives in the sheep's fleece and is easily transmitted to humans.
Suggested Treatment - click here for application techniques: Apply NZ Manuka direct with a cotton tip. Or combine 6-7 drops of Traditional Thieves into 20mls carrier oil (ideally Calendula Oil). Apply to the itching areas at least 3 times a day. Also, use in the bath. Hygiene is very important during treatment. Use these oils in a hot wash with clothes and/or in a spray bottle around the home.
